Dustz est un groupe ayant pour chanteur Fujita Ray, connu dans le monde du Toku pour ses rôles dans Kamen Rider 555 ainsi que dans Garo. Après de multiples mutations, le groupe compte actuellement quatre membres : Ray au chant, Gus à la basse, Kohei à la guitare et Hello en tant que DJ.

Dustz is a group with Fujita Ray as singer. He’s known in the Toku universe for his roles in Kamen Rider 555 and in Garo. After some mutations, the band is now composed of four members : Ray (vocals), Gus (bass), Kohei (guitar) and Hello as DJ.

Le groupe est créé en 2005 par trois amis d’enfance de l’école française de Tokyo : Fujita Ray, GUS et KenT, ils sont rejoins en 2007 par Naoki Kawano qui a incarné les personnages de Long dans Juken Sentai Gekiranger, de Kizaki dans Kamen Rider Wizard et de Toru Kawai dans Kamen Rider Double.

The band is created in 2005 by three childhood friends from Tokyo’s french school : Fujita Ray, GUS et KenT, they are join by Naoki Kawano in 2007 who portrayed the characters of Long in Juken Sentai Gekiranger, Kizaki in Kamen Rider Wizard and Toru Kawai in Kamen Rider Double.

Leur nom vient de l’anglais du mot « poussière » et puise sa signification dans la Bible et les paroles de Dieu dites à Adam et Eve après qu’ils aient croqué dans le fruit défendu : « C’est à la sueur de ton visage que tu mangeras du pain, jusqu’à ce que tu retournes dans la terre, d’où tu as été pris; car tu es poussière, et tu retourneras dans la poussière. ». Un passage de la Genèse que l’on peut retrouver en français dans leur chanson : « Warning ».

Their name draws its meaning from God’s words for Adam and Eve said after they plucked into the forbidden fruit : « By the sweat of your face you will eat bread, till you return to the ground, because from it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return. » We can find this bit of the Genese in their song : « Warning ».

La particularité du groupe repose sur un  panel de langues varié. En effet, Fujita Ray et Gus ayant des origines françaises et ayant fait leurs études en école française, ils sont parfaitement bilingue et maîtrisent aussi l’anglais. Ce mélange est d’autant plus appréciable pour les personnes parlant les trois langues ou une d’entre elles.

The particularity of the band is the multiple languages used. Indeed, Fujita Ray and Gus have french roots and having studied in french school they are perfectly fluent in both languages and also in english. This mix is even more appreciable for people who can speak all three languages or even one.

En 2009, ils sont venus en France à la fête de la musique pour faire un petit spectacle de rue. En plus de leurs titres originaux, ils ont aussi réarrangé des chansons françaises comme « Ça c’est Paris » -présente sur leur album TROIS- ou « Mais qui est la belette ? ».

Au niveau de la promotion de leurs chansons, ils passent comme beaucoup de groupes japonais par les anime ainsi que les drama.

Toujours en 2009, c’est pour le drama Oretachi wa Tenshi da ! NO ANGEL NO LUCK que la chanson « Brillant Day » est choisie en tant que thème de la série. Fujita Ray en est un des acteurs principaux aux côtés d’autres acteurs Toku tel que Joji Shibue et Yamamoto Shoma.

En 2011, ils réalisent l’opening de l’anime Blood C avec leur titre « Spiral » et sortent dans la foulé un single du même nom avec les titres « Warning » et un réarangement de « Brillant Day ».
