ShadowJC a eu la chance de rencontrer David, le responsable du projet Gakusei, pour qu’il nous parle un peu de son aventure. Voici son interview.<\/p>\n

David: You\u2019re welcome, it\u2019s my pleasure to talk about my project.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Donc, entamons la premi\u00e8re question. Quel a \u00e9t\u00e9 ton parcours pour en arriver l\u00e0 ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: So, shall we begin. What was the path of your study ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: Cela fait 7 ans que je fais des courts m\u00e9trages, ce qui m\u2019a permis d\u2019accumuler de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience sur la mise en sc\u00e8ne et m\u2019a fait rencontrer bien des acteurs. Je suis \u00e9galement \u00e9tudiant en Histoire.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: I made short movies for seven years, now, I\u2019ve gained a few acting experience and I\u2019ve met many people. I\u2019m also studying History.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Qu\u2019est-ce qui t\u2019a amen\u00e9 \u00e0 vouloir concr\u00e9tiser ce projet?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: What made you want to make this project ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: J\u2019ai pris ma d\u00e9cision le jour o\u00f9 j\u2019ai rencontr\u00e9 Alex Pilot. On a pas mal parl\u00e9 de mon projet et il m\u2019a bien motiv\u00e9 pour le lancer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: I made my mind when I met Alex Pilot. We talked a lot and I was highly motivated to start it.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: En parlant de France Five, si on le comparait \u00e0 Gakusei, comment le verrais-tu ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: Speaking about France Five, can you tell me the difference between Gakusei and France Five ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: D\u00e9j\u00e0 je ne suis ni Alex Pilot, ni France Five, nous n\u2019avons pas les m\u00eames r\u00e9f\u00e9rences et je n\u2019utiliserai pas les m\u00eames \u00e9l\u00e9ments. En terme de technique, France five a montr\u00e9 le ton et il est normal que mon projet soit d\u2019une bonne qualit\u00e9 voire \u00e9quivalente.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: I\u2019m not Alex Pilot or France Five, we don\u2019t have the same references and I will not use the same things he used. By the way, France five shows the way and my project should have the same quality.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Combien de temps a-t-il fallu pour r\u00e9unir l\u2019\u00e9quipement et l\u2019\u00e9quipe ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: How many time did you need to assemble your team and the proper gear ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: On a besoin de remonter vers fin 2011 ou j’ai particip\u00e9 en qualit\u00e9 d’acteur a une pi\u00e8ce : La M\u00e9lancolie de Haruhi Suzumiya dans le cadre du festival Animasia . Durant le festival, j’ai pu rencontrer Alex Pilot. Ayant depuis longtemps envie de r\u00e9aliser un projet de Sentai, j’ai pos\u00e9 des questions sur la r\u00e9alisation et sur le fait que je devais partir avec un bon sc\u00e9nario. Ensuite, j’ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9crire un sc\u00e9nario. Ne maitrisant pas totalement l’humour, j’ai pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 partir sur un sc\u00e9nario tr\u00e8s s\u00e9rieux. Se soldant par un \u00e9chec, je suis parti sur la r\u00e9alisation d’un projet sur l’univers de Fant\u00f4mette, gardant \u00e0 l’esprit cette envie de faire un Sentai . Fin 2013, je suis retourn\u00e9 sur une nouvelle version de Gakusei avec plus d’humour. Pour la nouvelle version, j\u2019ai r\u00e9alis\u00e9 un nouveau casting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: We have to come back to the past in 2011 when I was stared in a drama as an acto : The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya for the festival Animasia. During the festival, I met Alex Pilot. I wanted to make my own Sentai series for a long time now and I ask him many questions about the production and the script. Then I tried to write something but it was lacking the humour so I began to write a serious script. It didn\u2019t go well either. After that I directed a project about Fant\u00f4mette, keeping my Sentai in my mind. At the end of 2013, I\u2019m coming back with a new version of Gakusei with more fun, I also prepared a new casting.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Qu\u2019est-ce qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 le plus dur ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: What was the hardest part ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: Le plus dur, ce n\u2019est pas forcement de trouver des acteurs ou l\u2019\u00e9quipement mais de repartir \u00e0 z\u00e9ro avec une nouvelle histoire qui va plaire aux gens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: The hardest part wasn\u2019t finding new actors or gear, but start over again with a new appealing story.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Comment as-tu rencontr\u00e9 tes acteurs ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: How did you met the actors ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: En organisant des castings, \u00e7a allait de bouches en oreilles \u00e9galement. \u00c7a m\u2019a permis d\u2019engager des acteurs martialit\u00e9s. Le plus dur a \u00e9t\u00e9 de leur enseigner l\u2019essence du Sentai, leur expliquer la diff\u00e9rence entre les Power Rangers et les Super Sentai.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: By casting them, sometimes people talked about my show too. That\u2019s also why I could hire martial actors. The hardest thing was to teach them the spirit of Sentai and to tell them the difference between Super Sentai and Power Rangers.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Sont-ils tous \u00e9tudiants ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc\u00a0: Are they students ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: La plupart sont \u00e9tudiants et donc on organise les tournages en fonction des disponibilit\u00e9s.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: Yes, so we organise the shooting depending of their availability.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Est-ce que les lieux de tournage seront toujours \u00e0 Bordeaux ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: Do you still plan to shoot in Bordeaux ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: Bordeaux n\u2019est pas la seule destination mais \u00e9vitons les spoils.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: Bordeaux is not the only destination but no spoil.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Quel a \u00e9t\u00e9 le plus gros changement\u00a0?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: What was the biggest change ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: La cr\u00e9ation de casques finalis\u00e9s et de nouveaux costumes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

- Shadowjc: Passons aux choses s\u00e9rieuses, pourquoi avoir choisi le terme Gakusei, Escadron de la Terre ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: Let\u2019s speak seriously now, why did you choose this name : Earth Squad, Gakusei ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: \u00c0 la base, Gakusei est tout simplement la traduction japonaise d\u2019\u00e9tudiant. J\u2019ai choisi ce mot pour symboliser le fil rouge de ma s\u00e9rie qui est l\u2019apprentissage de la vie. Et pour l\u2019Escadron de la Terre, c\u2019est pour \u00e9viter des soucis avec la Toei comme avec France Five.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: Gakusei is the japanes word for student. That\u2019s why I use this term to represent the essence of my show, the learning of the life. For Earth Squad, it\u2019s because I don\u2019t want trouble with Toei, like France Five.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Combien y a-t-il de Rangers ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: How many Rangers are there ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: Il faut savoir qu\u2019il y a une base de 6 Rangers plus un Bangai Hero qui est GakuKnight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David : They are just 6 Rangers and un Bangai Hero which is GakuKnight.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: La combinaison au niveau des couleurs sera plut\u00f4t inattendue mais pas d\u2019orange. Il n\u2019y aura peut-\u00eatre pas d\u2019or et d\u2019argent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: The color combination will be unexpected but no orange. Maybe no Gold and Silver either.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Je suppose qu\u2019il y aura un mecha comme tout bon Sentai ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: I hope there will be a mecha, like every Sentai ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: Effectivement, il y aura le GakuRobot mais je n\u2019en dirai pas plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: Yes, the GakuRobot will be there but I won\u2019t spoil further.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Combien y aura-t-il d\u2019\u00e9pisodes ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: How many episodes will air ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: Je ne partirai pas sur une s\u00e9rie de 50 \u00e9pisodes mais ce sera au compte-goutte. Le premier \u00e9pisode durera 17 min et se terminera sur une fin ouverte.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: I will not make 50 episodes, I will make them one by one . The first will last 17 min and finish in an open ending.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: En 2014, les forces du mal sont arriv\u00e9es sur Terre et ont \u00e9t\u00e9 repouss\u00e9es par la premi\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de Gakusei. 30 ans plus tard, la revanche d\u00e9bute. Il est temps de pr\u00e9parer une nouvelle \u00e9quipe. (Ceci est un r\u00e9sum\u00e9 sans spoil)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: In 2014, an evil force is coming to Earth but they have been beaten by the first generation of Gakusei. 30 year later, the revenge is beginning. It is time to prepare a new team. (This is a spoiler free resume)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Parlons un peu plus de tes go\u00fbts : Quel est ton Tokusatsu pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: Tell us about your taste. What is your favorite Tokusatsu show ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: Mes s\u00e9ries pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9es sont Jetman pour Black Condor et Maskman par pure nostalgie. J\u2019ai bien aim\u00e9 Decade car il m\u2019a permis de d\u00e9couvrir un peu plus l\u2019univers des Kamen Rider.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: My favorites are Jetman for Black Condor and Maskman for the nosltalgia. I like Decade because it made me discover a bit more about the Kamen Rider series.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- Shadowjc: Quel est ton avis sur Toqger et Gaim ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Shadowjc: What is your view about Toqger and Gaim ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

- David: Je n\u2019ai pas encore regard\u00e9 Gaim mais pour Toqger je le trouve assez \u00e9trange et original avec le th\u00e8me des trains. Mais on sent le ton commercial. Je pense qu\u2019on commence \u00e0 faire le tour au niveau des Sentai et je ne le vois pas \u00e9ternel. Grand max 60 ans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
David: I didn\u2019t watch Kamen Rider Gaim yet but as for Toqger, it\u2019s a strange show but original and we feel it\u2018s really commercial. I think we’re starting to go around with the Sentai. They aren\u2019t eternal, 60 years max before its done.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
